What personal information do we collect and what do we do with it?
We collect your information when you register for a workshop, fill out a form (such as the contact form), sign up for a newsletter, or enter other information on our site. You may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information, medical history, or other details to facilitate the booking process.
We may use your personal information to process your transactions, communicate with you and send information regarding your booking, or to send information regarding activities of the Temple of the Way of Light and its sister organizations, Alianza Arkana and Chaikuni Permaculture Institute. You may unsubscribe from receiving future updates at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of each email.
During the booking process of the Temple of the Way of Light, the applicant is required to fill in a psychological questionnaire that is powered by an international non-profit organization called ICEERS (International Center for Ethnobotanical Education, Research & Service). Your anonymous responses will be associated with a number, with all identifying information removed. Only the staff of the Temple of the Way of light will have the information to link the reference number to the applicants identifying information. The data collected by ICEERS will be shared with the Temple of the Way of Light and is for the purpose of increasing the efficacy of the screening process to ensure safety of participants.
How do we protect your information?
Except for anonymous data shared with ICEERS during our screening process, we will not share, sell, or trade any of your personal information with outside parties under any circumstances without your permission. All personal and financial information is kept confidential within secured networks and is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Depending on your method of payment, some financial transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.
All medical information that you provide to us is kept strictly confidential and will not be shared without your authorization as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
We may only release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law or to protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.
Should a data breach occur, we will notify registered users via email and in-site notification within 7 business days.
