Laura Lopez Sanchez

Coming from a long line of Shipibo-Conibo healers, Laura was born in the Shipibo community of Roaboya, and was destined for the life of a curandera (healer) since birth. Both her parents are highly respected Onanya, and her grandfather was a Meraya (the highest level of Shipibo healer). Her family provided healing to their village and surrounding communities for many generations.
As with many young Shipibo born into a healing lineage, Laura was given small dietas by her grandparents from the age of ten, and by the age of sixteen her apprenticeship started in earnest when she started to work with ayahuasca. By the age of twenty, she was travelling all over Peru with her aunt, providing healing in mestizo and Shipibo communities. She has also learned from and worked extensively with her mother and teacher, Ynes Sanchéz Gonzalez, both in Peru and abroad.
Laura has worked at the Temple of the Way of Light since 2011 and her mother’s healing center, Niwe Rao Xobo, since it’s inception in 2015. She brings an incredible wealth of multi-generational knowledge and is a specialist in warmé ikaros, used for unblocking emotions and healing relationships. With her contagious laughter, and passion for healing, she is well loved by many.
