Jorge Vasquez Barbaran

Jorge was born in the Native Community of Curiaca. He is the third of his siblings. When he was 10 years old, he fell seriously ill and his parents took him to a healer named Sani, a master of plant diets, specializing in chiric sanango. During his treatment, Sani recognized a special energy in Jorge, that he said was well-suited to working with medicinal plants and nature. Inspired by this experience, Jorge took the decision to become a maestro of plants and healing.
As he grew older, Jorge started a family and had four children. Later, he continued his path of learning with another healer named Sina, who guided him through an intensive nine-month plant dieta, once again centered on chiric sanango. During this period, Jorge learned and received powerful energies from the plants. He was then invited to assist his maestro in working with patients in ceremonies.
In one of these ceremonies, Jorge experienced a profound vision in which the plants themselves gifted him powerful, healing energies, affirming his role as a master healer and huesero (specialist in physical anatomy and bone-setting). This vision marked the beginning of his own healing practice as a maestro.
Over the years, Jorge has worked with various organizations dedicated to plant medicine and healing, including Shipib Rao in Pucallpa. Fondly know as ”Maestro Jorge Llaves’ (Master Jorge Keys) he brings with him his ‘bag of 206 keys,’ one for unlocking and healing each bone in the human body. He works with an enormous amount of care, skill and precision and is a valued and loved member of the team.
