Elias Rodriguez Nahuama

Born in 1974 in Santa Isabel de Bawanisho, Elias is a high-level Onanya (master healer) and the coordinator of the Shipibo healing team at the Temple of the Way of Light. Known for his joyful spirit and profound healing abilities, Elias dedicates his life to plant-spirit healing.

His formal training began at age ten. His father, a revered Onanya facing death, prepared Elias to carry the family’s healing lineage. His foundational apprenticeship started with a master plant dieta at Kumankay Lake with the mighty Noya Rao tree. After this preparation, his father transmitted his ancestral knowledge and passed away one month later.

Despite early hardship working to support his family from age eleven, he continued his apprenticeship dieting many master plants and trees. At age twenty, his uncle, also an Onanya, guided him for several years, helping Elias master the sophisticated art of curanderismo.

Elias initially balanced a double life – security guard by day, healer by night. Word of his powerful healing gift spread across Peru, allowing him to fully dedicate himself to his true calling. He now works permanently at the Temple, sharing the transformative healing gifts inherited from his father with deep integrity and passion.
