Honoring and Harnessing the Diversity of Nature
Earth based wisdom practices and natural healing systems are fundamentally informed by the vast diversity of nature. As we see in western medicine, it takes a team of different medical professionals to carry out a surgery, each has their specific role.
The same can be said with true ayahuasca healing, it requires a team of plant spirit doctors working in collaboration, to provide tap-root level, full-spectrum healing.
When diversity is lost, weakness appears in the system. When diversity is maintained, a strength and resilience is found in the system. This is the key to ayahuasca / plant spirit healing.
Spiritual Connection to the Land
From indigenous peoples perspectives, the plants are an aspect of a larger spiritual being, the land itself. And then beyond the land, there is the larger spirit of the territory itself. And beyond the territory, there is the planet itself. All aspects of nature, including us, are intimately and inextricably connected and interrelated.
The western anthropocentric view of reality does not recognise this critical spiritual / energetic interconnection and sadly has the tendency to extract elements (compounds, chemicals, resources, etc). This is seen in the modern and more clinical approaches to ayahuasca / psychedelic healing too.
Challenges Beyond the Amazon
Working with ayahuasca outside of the Amazon cannot offer the sacred “set and setting” that this living forest provides. There is simply no imitation of the context within which authentic ayahuasca healing is carried out to be found outside of the Amazon.
The global expansion of ayahuasca ceremonies raises significant concerns among indigenous healers of the Amazon, with many viewing the western use of ayahuasca as a form of extraction and exploitation of their sacred traditions.
The Essence of Amazonian Healing - the Plant Spirit Songs
The Temple’s commitment to authentic healing goes beyond providing a psychedelic experience. We recognize the indispensable role of highly trained healers who channel the wisdom and healing powers of plant and tree spirits through intricate songs called ikaros – the core of Shipibo healing culture.
These songs carry ancient healing codes, a language that is not spoken in day to day community life and reserved exclusively for ayahuasca ceremonies. These codes are the keys to cleaning, clearing, aligning, and illuminating those who are seeking deep healing. And they cannot be learned on YouTube!
Traditional Amazonian Ethno-Medical Training
All of our healers undergo a depth of training comparable to Western medical education, taking at least 10 years to become fully qualified to be serving ayahuasca and providing healing to others.
In order to become a genuine healer – of which are hard to find in modern times – requires them to undergo a deeply transformative healing journey themselves first, through what is called of sama (master plant dieta).
The sama is both healing and teaching, an Amazonian Rainforest medical school, that ensures complete personal transformation before being capable of channeling the wisdom of nature itself to support the healing of others.
Healers of the Amazon are often confused how medical professionals in the West can be ‘treating’ patients when they havent healed themselves first! This is ‘illogical’ from an indigenous healing perspective!

The Temple is not a ‘tripping center’ nor do we solely offer psychedelic experiences. We are an Amazonian shamanic, plant-spirit healing centre deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of the Amazon.
