Erika Garcia Roque

Erika has 2 children, a boy and girl, 10 and 14 years old. Erika was born in the community of Santa Clara. She has a great interest in the plants and is currently learning to be a vegetalista. Her uncle is a vegetalista, and watching him work with other people has inspired her to learn.

She wants to be able to help the people who are needing help. She loves working with the plants as she says they cure illness from the roots. If someone is feeling pain or distress, taking pills only calms things, but plants go to the root of the problem.

She is currently the cook of the maestros and it is a good situation for her to be learning from the vegetalistas that work at the Temple. She is also our ‘Maestra de Pique’ An expert in taking out little sand-fly worms called piques. She has a powerful medicine in her smile and in her general disposition which supports the nourishment of the the maestros physically and spiritually.
